The volunteer crews of Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary - Pacific Unit 10 (CCGA10) provide dedicated Marine Search and Rescue(SAR) services, 24h a day, 7 days a week.

The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary - Pacific (CCGA-P) includes over 1000 volunteers throughout British Columbia who offer their time and commitment to actively provide search and rescue (SAR) services. These volunteers participate in resolving nearly one third of the SAR incidents that occur on the BC coast, either as the principal resource, or as an additional response unit. Their area includes more than 29,500 square kilometers of coastline, 6,500 islands, and approximately 450,000 square kilometers of internal and offshore waters.

It is a challenge to provide SAR response capability to such a large area, and our volunteers meet the challenge with determination and professionalism. The CCGA-P provides marine SAR resources which are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If necessary, our volunteers are willing and ready to risk their lives to help anyone in distress on the water.

Looking for Volunteers

We are looking for people with different interests and skills. SAR crews are our most visible members - but they won't be going out if it wasn't for the off-water members. Volunteering with the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary is a vastly rewarding experience. Bringing heightened levels of training and experiences for all our members. It can be a life-altering experience of what it means to make a real difference in the community for everyone involved.
